Who doesn’t love road trips? Being in LA gives you so many options to just pack up the car and head East, West, North or South and end up somewhere amazing. This trip we decided to head to the desert. My usual trips to the desert are for the uber hipster festival, Coachella. So this time I new I wanted to do something completely different from the norm. Thank god for Instagram hashtags because that’s all it took for me to find the hidden gem, Joshua Tree Acres. A vintage lovers dream nestled in the middle of nowhere. One look at the hip designed air streams and I knew that’s where we had to go.
After a brutally windy 2.5 hour drive we made it to Joshua Tree Acres. Holy cuteness!! You’d never know from the street what you were pulling into. The property has three vintage Air Streams all with their own decks attached. Each one had different decor and styling. Some with hammocks, other with lounge chairs. Unfortunately for us it was the coldest day we had all year with winds of 40 MPH. So we weren’t able to take advantage of catching some rays from our private deck. Guess that means we’ll have to go back just so we can enjoy the hammocks.
The property had a communal room where we spent most of our time. Every corner looked like it was straight out of a vintage photo shoot. From vintage record players, to a 1960’s stove. They certainly didn’t skimp on the details. The furniture was lined with faux fur throws, the tables were filled with old games and fun coffee table books. Lots of old records for all you music lovers.
Being that you’re in the desert the star gazing is something you have to experience. Weather you watch from the hot tub, the old vintage chairs in front of the fire pit or snuggled up with your loved one on the hammock.
Weather you’re looking for a romantic getaway or fun girls trip Joshua Tree acres has something for everyone.
Where should the next road trip be? Wine country?
